Our Purpose: To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through
Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand
concepts
of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The UMW meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the New Life
Center. We always have a good evening of fellowship plus a good program
at each meeting. All women are invited to join the UMW. The UMW sponsors:
- Chicken 'N Dumpling Supper - Saturday, October 6; 4 - 8 p.m.
- UMW Sunday - Sunday, October 7
- Mother's Banquet in May.
- Showers for the brides-to-be and mother-to-be church members.
- Reading program.
- Senior citizens secret pals. During the year we send cards, notes
and give small gifts to our secret pals. We reveal ourselves to
our pals in December when we have breakfast for all UMW members
and their secret pals.

- District Annual Meeting - Saturday, August 25 (Peachland UMC, Anson
County)
- Conference Annual Meeting - September 7-9 (Lake Junaluska)
- District Officer Training - November 17 (First Street UMC, Stanly
County)

Did You Know?
- Zion's UMW have prepared health kits, school kits and layettes.
These items help the UMW reach out to those in need.
- Gift to Mission is another vital part of Zion's UMW: A gift of $5
or more for mission can be made in honor of anyone the donor chooses
and a card may be sent to those who are honored. The following cards
are available: Thank You, Thinking of You and Happy Birthday cards
are just a few examples of what cards can be chosen.
- Gift in Memory is an additional mission that Zion's UMW supports:
Gifts for mission can be made in memory of any member or friend in
the amount of $5 or more.
